Chair: Catherine GREMILLET, Head of AFEPTB, Marc FORET, President of PREVIRISQ jury
A side event called "Previrisq" is organized on Monday 17th by AFEPTB (French Association of River Bassin Organizations). Mixing plenary conferences and parallel workshops this event will focus on a selection of French territorial projects that have succeeded in integrating different aspects of flood risk management. Among the 21 competing projects, the PREVIRISQ jury, composed of managers, researchers, experts, representatives of the state, awarded three projects addressing "integration" between public policy in the management of various risks between management levels, between research and action, even incorporating experiences to an international level.
The three winners are:
- SYMBHI - Upstream Isère, from a project of flood prevention to a project of territorial development
- IAV / EPTBs VILAINE - The port area of Redon: from the search for protection against flooding to the integration of risk in land planning
- DREAL of Franche-Comté / Saône and Doubs EPTB - The Observatory of Hydrology of Franche-Comté
Three special mentions were also awarded by the jury, namely:
- Special Mention under "Research and Development": IRSTEA - operational implementation of the AIGA method of extreme rainfall detection and anticipation of floods on unsupervised waterways
- Special Mention under the "Concerted Management of Crisis": Syndicat Mixte ARDECHE CLAIRE / EPTB Ardèche - Implementation of assistance in the development of Community Emergency Plans on the Ardèche watershed
- Special Mention under the "Protection of architectural and historical heritage": EP Loire - Reducing vulnerability to floods of historical monuments and other heritage properties on the Loire basin and its tributaries
Those six projects will be presented in the special session
